I have been wanted to get a new tattoo for a while now.   I’d actually been planning on getting it while I was in Vegas next weekend, but then after I thought about it, I decided that I would like to get it here at home so that it would be all healed by the time I went.  So, I asked Chris if he would take me to get it yesterday.

There are  two tattoo shops in the town where I live and one of them is in a very prominent location, right in the center of town.  The other one is also in the center of town, but tucked behind a building, so I don’t think as many people know about it.  The last time I had gotten a tat, I was just a walk-in because it was a spur of the moment sort of thing (see here for pics), so I initially went to the place right in the center of town, but they were slammin’ busy and told me it would have been over an hours wait…..and everyone knows how impatient I am, so that clearly wasn’t going to work.  So, I drove the 14 seconds to the place in the back and there was literally noone there.  I ended up getting my tat and was on my way well before that hour would have been up.

Yesterday comes and I was talking to Chris and telling him why I wanted to get it before we left and so on…so he said I should just get it.  I suggested we make an appointment because the last time was so busy, which he thought was a good idea as well & he ended up making the call  because I have a very noisy toddler here & I couldn’t hear anything on the phone.  So, he calls them, makes the appointment and tells me it’s at 7:30….sweet.

We left at 7:20-ish to get down there and find a parking spot (it was raining, so I wanted a close spot and it’s on the street parking down there) and my heart dropped when we got to the shop and all the lights were off.  WTH?   We get out of the car and low and behold the door is locked, but I noticed that the tv was still on, so I knocked.  Thankfully a guy came to the door & let us in.  I told him that I had made an appointment for 7:30 and he told me that noone told him I was coming, but checked some schedule and I was on it,  so he ended up doing it…and it was a simple tat, so I knew it wouldn’t take him long anyways.

It must have been fate, though, because he told me that he planned on leaving at 7 (even though the sign on the door said they were open till 8 pm) but he sat down to watch an episode of Seinfeld (remember I said the tv was on), so he happened to still be there.

And because I know you’re dying to know what I got:

And there you have it.  What do ya think?

  4. pretty. But what part of the body did you get it on? I can’t tell. LOL.
It’s look very cryptic to me…;)

  5. Very cute tatoo. I’ve wanted one for a really long time…but basically I am a big chicken!! How much does it hurt? I’m such a scardy cat!

    • It depends where you get it to be honest. This one hurt more than a few of my others (the top of my foot), but they normally aren’t that bad. Start with a small one that only takes a few minutes.

  6. Nice!! No tats here although I do think about getting one, but I always chicken out :)

  7. Simple and nice. I don’t think I will ever have the guts to have a permanent tattoo. I can imagine the pain.

  8. Very cute!! I cannot wait to go in for my next one!

  9. Love it! How adorable!!!! I can’t wait for another one! :)

  10. I love that! I would love to get another tattoo. I’d love soemthing similar, but with stars instead of hearts.

  11. Cute! I really like it. I have 3 myself, and theres always something standing in between me and an appointment lol. Power outages, a flood, serious sunburn, you never know!

  12. Love it! The foot, yeowch! The one wrapping around my ankle hurt more than my other two together

  13. LOVES! That is totally appropriate considering! I dig it….I really am a fan of the black ink…simple yet understated….I approve! :)

  16. Nice!! I’m so jealous I want a few but we never have enough money :( I will get my NIN lyrics one day though darn it!

  17. Looks good lady!

  18. I love it! As soon as I can decide on what I want, and where I want it, I am getting new ink too. Did it hurt terribly on your foot? I have one on my stomach, near my appendix scar and it wasn’t too bad but that was also 14 years ago!

  19. I love your new tattoo. It’s very simple and lovely and it’s great that the guy was still there to do it. You must have been thanking Seinfeld up and down as soon as he said that to you.

I have two tattoos and would really like to get some others. Mine are also very simple; I have two disconnected half circles from an animation scene from Hedwig and the Angry Inch on the right side of my back and another on my wrist that says ‘Don’t worry I’ll catch you’ from a song by The Get Up Kids.

  20. Love it! Love the location too :)
