Christmas was very busy for us this year. For the past five years or so, I have hosted Christmas dinner at my house, but my mother asked to host it this year and who was I to say no to my mom?
The holiday festivities all started on Christmas Eve, though, when we put out some cookies & milk for Santa.
Oh, and we scattered some Reindeer food all over our deck and yard – you know, just to make sure
we were dragging glitter inside the house every time we walked in from the outside the Reindeer could spot our house from the sky.
After the boys were both asleep, Chris and I played Santa and we just knew how excited the boys would be to see all those presents underneath the tree when they woke up in the morning.
Excited wasn’t even the word. They had a ball opening all their gifts and herere is a picture of the aftermath……
One of the big hits of the day was this cool Indiana Jones play set:
The sets included hats, a foam whip, a foam sword, a belt, and a little bag with gold coins & jewels. I actually picked them up when we were in Disney World in October. I saw them in one of the gift shops at Hollywood Studios and had a hell of time sneaking back to purchase them without the boys seeing what I was up to. But I pulled it off and the boys were just as excited to get them as I thought they would be.
The big hit of the day were the Nintendo 3DS’s that they each got. They played on and off all day.
But after a while, we had to head to my parent’s house for a feast:
And more presents. A LOT more presents.
One of the coolest things that my nine year old got (in my opinion) was this awesome book:
One of his uncle’s gave it to him and I think it’s going to make for some awesome blog posts over the next few months, don’t you?
Overall, we had a great Christmas. How about you? How was your Christmas?
