**Masshole Mommy received four complimentary tickets to visit the Adventure Center at Loon Mountain in order to facilitate this post.  All opinions expressed here are strictly my own and were not influenced in any way** \

Do you think the White Mountains of New Hampshire are just for winter fun? Think again.  There are tons of things to do in the summertime and the Loon Mountain Adventure Center has a whole slew of great activities for you to do on  your summer getaway!  The best part is that you can customize your experience.

Want to do it all?  The Super Adventure Pass is the way to go, which includes everything Loon has to offer.  Check it out –

Only want to do certatin attractions?  Check out the Loon Adventure Pass:

If you only have a few hours to spend, the Base Camp Pass or Bunyan’s Bouncin’ Backyard Pass might be perfect for you:

Base Camp

My family got a Super Adventure Pass and set out early to make sure we made the most of our day.  Our first stop was Bunyan’s Bouncin’ Backyard, which is an area of inflatable games and bouncy houses.

Bunyan's Bouncin' Backyard

We spent quite a while there before moving on to the LogJam Maze. At the beginning  of the maze we were all given punch cards given some simple instructions.  First of all,  we were supposed to time-stamp our cards on the way in & the way out of the maze (which was completely optional) to see how long it took us to find our way out.   Secondly, we and were told we needed to find the letters M-A-Z-E hidden within the maze.  Once we found them, we needed to punch our cards with the corresponding letter.

Logjam Maze 1

We did it in about 10 minutes and it only took us as long as it did because we had to back track to find one of the letters.

LogJam Maze 2

By the time we were done with the maze, we noticed some clouds that had started to roll in, so we decided that it was probably a good time to take the Gondola Skyride up to the top of the mountain.  We were afraid that it might rain later in the day & didn’t want to miss the experience because of the weather.

Gondola Skyride

The Gondola Skyride at Loon is the longest scenic gondola in New Hampshire (the summit is 2,733 feet) and once you get to the top, there is a whole bunch of things to do up there. Aside from amazing views of the White Mountains, you can stroll along a short nature trail up there, explore the summit glacial caves (weather permitting), play on a playground or stop by the Summit Café for breakfast or lunch.

Loon Summit

Up on the summit, we were also able to climb the observation tower to get an even better view of the mountains.

We did check out the glacial caves before we caught the gondola ride back down to the base of the mountain, but I am going to tell you more about that tomorrow.

I have been to Loon Mountain many times and had no idea that all of that stuff was up on the top of the mountain.  It was probably our favorite part of the day to be honest – with the exception of the gondola coming to a screeching halt about half way through our descent down the mountain.  The ride stopped abruptly for a good four or five minutes and let’s just say that 3 out of the 4 of us in the gondola thought we were going to plummet to our death (or at least a few broken bones) and were in tears.

Anyways, once were were safely back on the ground, we decided to to go check out the Climbing Wall. I was in flip flops, so I couldn’t participate, but my nine year old and Chris were able to harness up and scale the area’s largest outdoor climbing wall.

FYI – climbers must weigh between 40 lbs. and 250 lbs.

Next up was the Bungee Trampoline, which was high up on the list of the kids favorite things for the day:

Afterwards, we spent a little more time at Bunyan’s Bouncin’ Backyard before the rain started and we ended up having to call it a day. We spent hours and hours doing all of those Adventure Center activities and had a blast.

Here’s everything else that you need to know:

Loon Mountain is located at  60 Loon Mountain Rd. in Lincoln, NH.  Check out the hours of operation here.

We had such a good time at the Adventure Center.  Seriously, we spent almost the entire day doing the various activities and the kids were totally blown out by bedtime that night (yay)!  I am looking forward to getting back up there again next summer to do it all again.
