**I was invited on a sponsored press trip to the John Carver Inn’s Beach Plum Spa and WaterFire Tavern, but all opinions expressed here are strictly my own and were not influenced in any way**

Recently I was invited to join three other area bloggers at the John Carver Inn in Plymouth, MA for a day of pampering at the Beach Plum Spa and some great food at the WaterFire Tavern.  I live in the area, so I have actually stayed at John Carver Inn before, but I had never had the chance to try out the spa or eat at the WaterFire Tavern, so I was excited to get the chance to experience both of those things for the first time.

The great thing about the John Carver Inn is that it’s a quaint, charming hotel that’s within walking distance of the Plymouth waterfront, shopping and attractions of historic Plymouth like the Plymouth Rock and Mayflower.

When we arrived at the John Carver, we got a tour of some of the rooms as well as the opportunity to go check out the Pilgrim Cove Indoor Theme Pool.  I have actually been to the pool with my kids before and it was a big hit with them. They ask to go back all the time.

After our tour, it was time to head to the Beach Plum Spa, located on the second floor of the hotel.

The Beach Plum Spa at John Carver is a full service spa and they offer a complete array of spa treatments for men, women and children. Yes, children.  In addition to traditional spa services such as massages and facials, the Beach Plum Spa offers a full range of cosmetic medical services including skin rejuvenation, body sculpting & contouring, and pain-free hair removal.

Once inside the spa, the four of us went to the locker room to change into a robe and slippers before we got our services.  There are both men’s and women’s locker rooms complete with showers, restrooms and lockers for you to leave your belongings. Once we were all changed, the four of us waited in the Relaxation Room for our therapists to come get us.  Each of us had chosen different services prior to our visit.  I chose the  Beach Plum Honey Butter Wrap and Massage for Hands and Feet.

The wrap combines an infused organic oil and Himalayan healing salts in a wrap with rich nutrients from honey. Provides skin-softening, detox, with rich antioxidants Omegas 3, 6, 9 to nourish your skin.

My feet were up first.  I sat in this massage chair while the technician, Beth (who was phenomenal) did the wrap & massage.

After she did the massage, she applied the Honey Butter Wrap and can I just tell you how amazing it smelled?

She did my hands after she finished with my feet and the process was exactly the same.  And equally as heavenly.

I was basically a pile of mush by the time my experience was over.  I was completely relaxed as I sat in the Relaxation Room after my massage & wrap to wait for the other ladies to finish up.  The four of us compared notes after we were all finished and everyone had a wonderful experience at the spa.

The Beach Plum Spa offers all sorts of packages for your convenience.  Aside from the day and overnight packages that they offer, they are more than happy to customize a package to meet your specific needs.

Plus, the Plum Rose Spa has a whole bunch of amazing products for sale so that you can bring a little piece of the spa home with you.

The Spa is open to the public. You need not be a guest at the hotel to enjoy the Spa. The spa is open seven days a week, year round, but make sure you call to make an appointment to ensure availability.

If you’re on Cape Cod and don’t want to cross the bridge to visit the John Carver Inn location, you’re in luck because they have two locations on the cape.  One at the Dan’l Webster Inn in Sandwich and another at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis.

The Beach Plum Spa has their own blog and if you’re local, you may want to subscribe so that you can keep up with any specials or promotions they’re running.  Check it out here.  They are also on Facebook, so head over and give them a like if you want to be kept up to date on their latest news.

After our spa treatments, we headed downstairs to the first floor of the Inn to eat at the WaterFire Tavern.

As soon as you walk in to the restaurant, you’re greeted by this one-of-a-kind fire-fountain.  The lights on the fire-fountain change color throughout the night, which adds to the ambiance.

On the menu was a nice selection of Craft Beers, Cocktails, Tapas, Sliders, Grilled Pizzas and Entrees.

We all shared several items off of the tapas menu to start including these Asian Chicken Wings, which were out of this world.

For my main course, I ordered the Bacon and Cheese Sliders:

All-natural, certified Angus beef patties, topped with melted cheddar cheese and Applewood smoked nitrate-free bacon, served on buttery brioche rolls

They were absolutely delicious. A few of the other ladies ordered some Grilled Flatbread Pizzas and somehow they all ended up making their way over to me.  And that is not a complaint by any means.  I sampled lots of food that evening and there honestly wasn’t anything that I didn’t love.

But the best is yet to come.

Before we called it a night, we shared a WaterFire Chocolate Bowl, which consisted of melted dark chocolate blended with exotic spices, served with fresh fruit, graham crackers, marshmallows and cookies for dipping.  It was divine.

I bet you’re dying to head to the John Carver Inn now, aren’t you?  I don’t blame you because my experience there was truly phenomenal. It’s located at 25 Summer Street in Plymouth MA and believe me, you’re in for a real treat if you go.
