When I met Chris (in 2008), he had two tattoos.  One was a Superman symbol on his right arm and the other was a small rain drop left to his left nipple (don’t ask).  Since then, I’ve been trying to subtly tell him that another tat on his left arm would look good.  And after all these years, he finally agreed to do it this past weekend.

He is an Air Force man, just  a few months shy of his 20 year mark, so it was kind of a no-brainer about what he was going to get tattooed on his arm: The Air Force Symbol.

Here he is getting it:

In case you’re not my friend on Facebook and missed it on Twitter, a couple of weeks ago I got another tattoo.   One of my best friends, Denise, wanted to had been itching to get more ink (she’s totally got me beat in the tattoo department by the way), and knew I’d never, ever pass up on a chance to hit up the tattoo parlor, so off we went.

I knew I wanted something on my wrist and I had a good idea of what I wanted,  so after her tattoo was done – it was my turn.

Here’s the finished product.  This makes numero seven – and I am definitely not done yet, but first I need to figure out what I want and where. Continue reading »

I have been wanted to get a new tattoo for a while now.   I’d actually been planning on getting it while I was in Vegas next weekend, but then after I thought about it, I decided that I would like to get it here at home so that it would be all healed by the time I went.  So, I asked Chris if he would take me to get it yesterday.

There are  two tattoo shops in the town where I live and one of them is in a very prominent location, right in the center of town.  The other one is also in the center of town, but tucked behind a building, so I don’t think as many people know about it.  The last time I had gotten a tat, I was just a walk-in because it was a spur of the moment sort of thing (see here for pics), so I initially went to the place right in the center of town, but they were slammin’ busy and told me it would have been over an hours wait…..and everyone knows how impatient I am, so that clearly wasn’t going to work.  So, I drove the 14 seconds to the place in the back and there was literally noone there.  I ended up getting my tat and was on my way well before that hour would have been up.

Yesterday comes and I was talking to Chris and telling him why I wanted to get it before we left and so on…so he said I should just get it.  I suggested we make an appointment because the last time was so busy, which he thought was a good idea as well & he ended up making the call  because I have a very noisy toddler here & I couldn’t hear anything on the phone.  So, he calls them, makes the appointment and tells me it’s at 7:30….sweet.

We left at 7:20-ish to get down there and find a parking spot (it was raining, so I wanted a close spot and it’s on the street parking down there) and my heart dropped when we got to the shop and all the lights were off.  WTH?   We get out of the car and low and behold the door is locked, but I noticed that the tv was still on, so I knocked.  Thankfully a guy came to the door & let us in.  I told him that I had made an appointment for 7:30 and he told me that noone told him I was coming, but checked some schedule and I was on it,  so he ended up doing it…and it was a simple tat, so I knew it wouldn’t take him long anyways.

It must have been fate, though, because he told me that he planned on leaving at 7 (even though the sign on the door said they were open till 8 pm) but he sat down to watch an episode of Seinfeld (remember I said the tv was on), so he happened to still be there.

And because I know you’re dying to know what I got:

And there you have it.  What do ya think?

I’ve been itching to get another tattoo for a while now. I got my first one when I was 18 and my second one was like 9 or 10 years ago, so I was way overdue! So, Chris took me last night to get my latest piece of body art.

It’s funny because up until 3 or 4 years ago, it was illegal to get tats in Massachusetts, so we had to go to New Hampshire or Rhode Island. Since I am much closer to RI, I got my first two there. But now that getting ink is legal here in MA, there are two shops that opened up here in my town.

So here is me getting prepped:

And here is the finished product:

For anyone who is wondering…..”J” and “N” are the first initials of both of my boys’ names. And the star is just cool.
