Some of you already know, but I twit on a regular basis and I’ve met some truly amazing people through using Twitter.   Although most of the people I haven’t had the good fortune to meet in real life….yet, a few of them I have and I know for a fact that a few of them are going to be friends for life.   And it’s all thanks to “The Twitta”.

With a few exceptions, I am on Twitter pretty much every day.   Some days I twit more than others, but I do check it regularly.  Remember my list of Twitter Do’s and Don’ts that I wrote up a few months ago?  Well, since I’m on there so much, there are a few trends that I’ve noticed and of course, I am going to share some of my observations with you today.

I can’t believe that I’ve lived in this area for my entire life, but just went to the Medieval Manor in Boston for the first time this past weekend. It’s an interactive dinner and show set in the dark ages and it was a fricken blast. Throughout the night we were entertained by the King, the Minstrel, the Jester, an Oaf and a few Wenches who all put on quite a show filled with jokes and music. All of the performers (minus the king) were also the servers, so they had double duty. But since we were doing things dark ages style, meaning we had to eat all our food with our hands, the performers were able to just drop our food and go. I guess they didn’t have forks back then.

When my kids wake up in the morning, the first show that we put on in the mornings is Arthur.  It plays at 7 am here on out local PBS station, so we always start our day with our favorite animated friemds from Elwood City!  But did you know that Arthur and the gang starred in “Arthur’s Perfect Christmas?”  The hour-long special originally aired in December of 2000 on PBS KIDS, but that was long before I had kids, so I never had the chance to see it. Lucky for me (and all of you) it is being re-released exclusively for download and rental on iTunes and Amazon!

I had an opportunity to attend an informative winter warm-up event in Boston!  The event featured somet of the latest gadgets from Vicks to help aid in cold and flu prevention.  I was really excited when the email showed up in my inbox last week because I’ve been using Vicks products since I was a kid and it’s a brand that I trust.

Dr. Meg Meeker was the guest speaker and she was just phenomenal.  She gave us some great tips on how to stay healthy this upcoming cold and flu season.  I learned so much from her and I am excited to share some of her great advice with you.

Eighth Annual Army-Navy Football Luncheon to Support Local Children of Fallen Troops through Operation Santa-Massachusetts

The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation hosts its Army-Navy Football Luncheon this Saturday, December 10 at the Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grille at the Holiday Inn in Woburn.  Proceeds from the event will support Operation Santa-Massachusetts, a partnership with the Military Friends Foundation will provide holiday gift cards to children of deployed National Guard and Reserves and to children who have lost a parent in the Iraq/Afghanistan war. With the holiday season in full swing, do you find yourself in a pickle when it comes to those hard to buy for people?  My father is like that.  For years, my sister, brother and I have struggled to come up with gift ideas, but have quickly come to realize gift cards are the way to go with him.  I mean, who doesn’t  like getting gift cards?  That way the recipient can pick out exactly what they like without having to worry about hurt feelings or the hassle of a return.

For me, one of my favorite traditions during the holidays is sitting down with my children and watching the holiday specials played on ABC Family during the 25 Days of Christmas!

ABC Family will kick off the holiday season with 36 days of festive, family-friendly programming starting with the “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas” from November 20 – 30, 2011, and then “25 Days of Christmas” from December 1 – 25, 2011.

You read yesterday how my husband and I surprised my kids with a trip to Disney World, but today I wanted to share a few of our highlights of the trip.

Throughout the week, we had a chance to visit all four of the theme parks! We went on all the rides that were on the list that we wanted to go on and met a whole bunch of the Disney characters along the way.  The lines weren’t bad, so we were able to get a lot done.  A few of the things I’ll always remember about this trip:

Some of you know that my family and I spent the week in Disney World last week (and if you didn’t know – now you do).  My husband, Chris and I took my two boys on a surprise trip down there this past Tuesday.  My 14 year old step son opted to stay home while we went with the little ones, which we were totally ok with.  He’s at that age where he doesn’t want to be seen with us (ugh, teenagers), so we let him off the hook – this time.

Our day started at 3 am last Tuesday when I woke up the boys for a mystery trip.   I don’t think the kids realized they were up so early.  We (the kids and I) had talked the night before about going to Roger Williams Zoo in Providence that day since it was a Professional Day at school and the kids were off anyways.  So when we drove down to Rhode Island towards the airport, it didn’t seem fishy.  We flew out of Providence, which is typical for us.  It’s much easier to get to than Logan in Boston!  The kids didn’t catch on that we were going anywhere….until we arrived at the airport.

As a blogger I love it when people actually take the time to read my posts.  When I first started writing, I knew exactly where I wanted to take my blog and I’m lucky that so far it’s been playing out the way I had hoped it would.  But we all know that part of getting people to come over to read your blog is to stop by other people’s blogs & leave them a comment to let them know you were there.  I have my regular blogs that I read daily, but in addition to that, I read through tons of  other blogs.  I’m not saying that my blog is the best blog ever (well ok, I think it is), but if you’re wondering why I’ve stopped visiting your site, this is probably why:
