The Mount Washington Valley area of New Hampshire is one of my favorite parts of the state to visit. Made up of eight villages, it is almost like taking a step back in time when you visit the area.  In the heart of Mt. Washington Valley, you’ll undoubtedly end up in North Conway and once you visit, you will definitely want to stay. Cathedral Ledge Resort is located in North Conway, New Hampshire, is just a little over two hours from Boston and if you’re looking for a place to stay in the area – this is it.

There are a couple of options when staying at Cathedral Ledge Resort. You can choose to rent a Bungalow or a Townhouse. My family stayed in a townhouse, but I am going to tell you about both of your options – so that way if you are planning on booking a stay there, you can choose what’s right for your family.

Bungalow: Lovely out of the way cottages sleep six with private driveway, two bedrooms each with private bath & Jacuzzi, plus 1/2 bath in case you have kids set up on the pull-out couch overnight. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, outdoor grill and patio set. Have all the amenities, just a little more quiet.

Room Facilities:

  • Full Kitchen
  • Outdoor Grill and Patio Set
  • Private Bath & Jacuzzi
  • Private Driveway
  • Washer & Dryer
  • WiFi

Townhouse: Their townhouses sleep 6-8. The kitchens are fully equipped to prepare food as if you were still in your own home. There is Wi-Fi throughout every unit and each unit comes with all the linens you would need.

Room Facilities:

  • Full Kitchen

  • Outdoor Grill and Patio Set
  • Private Bath & Jacuzzi
  • Private Driveway
  • Washer & Dryer

  • WiFi

My family was really impressed with our stay in the townhouse.  It was extremely spacious and we were very comfortable there.  The only bad part was the four of us arguing who was going into the Jacuzzi first.  Ha!

But seriously, the full kitchen and the washer/dryer right in the unit were two of my favorite things. As a mom, it was so nice to be able to make my kids a fresh snack and have the ability to throw our wet snowsuits in the dryer.  It’s all about the little things, but for someone like me – they were major!

We all really felt like we were at home during our stay.

We were really surprised that the unit was three stories. My boys had so much fun upstairs in the 3rd floor loft area. That was their “hangout” for the weekend.

There was a grill there and if we were there longer, we would have used it. A little snow is no reason not to cook out, but like I said we just didn’t have enough time.

Those both sound great, right? Well there’s more.  There are some other really great amenities at Cathedral Ledge Report for all their guests to enjoy.

1. Game Room with Pool & Ping Pong Tables, Music Access, Video Games, and Internet Access (Available to all guests over the age of 16 – younger children need to be accompanied by an adult).

2. A pool, Sauna & hot tub.

3. The Great Room, which has a large TV to watch the game (or anything else) on, some breakfast tables with a fabulous view of Moat Mt., and a play area for the little ones on a rainy day. There are also ceramics classes once a week, Ceramics with Nancy.

4. A fitness center with weight room!  They have a varied amount of equipment with a large flat screen TV to catch the news.

5.  For the summer months there are full tennis courts, children’s playground, 1/2 Basketball Court, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes and boche!

So now that we’ve established that Cathedral Ledge Resort is a wonderful place to stay, let’s talk about the other reason we loved staying there. There are a ton of family friendly things to do in the area. If you’ve never visited the North Conway area before, you are missing out.

In the summer there is lots of hiking, river riding and lakes to swim in! They are centrally located near several golf courses, 5 star restaurants and don’t forget adventure parks! Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park & Story Land are both only 5 minutes away from the resort. You can even take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad or even just stroll around North Conway Village and explore all of the shops.

In the winter there are the Ski Resorts, Cranmore Mountain being the closest (it’s only about 5 minutes away), but Attitash & Wildcat are only about a half hour away. All three have provided Cathedral Ledge Resort with Ski Tickets for their guests to buy at a discounted price. CLR is also not too far from Bretton Woods, Loon Mountain, & Black Mountain, which is just down the road in Jackson. Plus you could go snowshoeing, cross country skiing or even a winter hike.

In the fall there’s the Mudbowl, many pumpkin farms, apple picking, art festivals. The fun never ends.

Cathedral Ledge Resort is located at 17 Carroll Lane in Intervale.  You can call them at 603.356.6335 to make a reservation or visit them online. Cathedral Ledge Resort is open year round so that you can enjoy New Hampshire’s White Mountains anytime.

This is exactly the kind of place I like to stay when I travel. I want to be comfortable, and staying in a place that feels like my own house is the best way to do that.

I agree with you Jennifer. Comfort is a top priority in choosing where to stay when traveling. I love that there is a full kitchen, however, I do not want to do the cooking when I am on vacation. Please. Spare me the task for a few days at least. 🙂

This would be similar to a staycation we are going to have in two weeks. As long as their is a pool, my son would love to go to any hotel, even if it were down the block, especially in the winter! And a Jacuzzi! That is a bonus! He would be so happy and water logged!

That’s a super cute place to stay. Love the full kitchen and laundry facilities. We like to use both on vacation, to save packing and money. We always do breakfast at “home” unless there is a fabulous place we must try. Our goal is to have one meal at home each day. Thanks for the review, I’ve saved it for future reference.
