“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Dover International Speedway. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation at the conclusion of the program.”

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep my kids busy.  Especially on the weekends.  We all work hard during the week and deserve to have a little fun on our days off, right?  Too many times, though, I find that we end up doing the same things over and over again. Going to the playground, the movies, trampoline parks and museums are fun, but sometimes we want something a little more exciting.

How about going to the AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at the Dover International Speedway on October 4th? I am.

If your family are thrill seekers, and don’t mind a little noise, the Dover International Speedway will be hosting the AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race this October. Fans and their families will experience thrill and amazement as the world’s best drivers rip around the Monster Mile competing in the first knockout race in the 10-race chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup! **I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Reebok and Finish Line. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for participating**

Are you looking for ways to keep your kids active? It’s so tempting to allow our kids to stay inside to play video games and watch television, but it’s important for them to get moving! I wanted to share some ways you can keep your kids active around the house.

#1. Have a Dance Party

Nothing gets the body moving faster than a dance party. Plus, your kids will love the fact that they are getting in exercise without even really trying. You can have a freestyle dance party, or you can try and learn a specific dance together.

#2. Set up an Obstacle Course

Putting together an obstacle course is really simple, you just use what you have lying around your home. You can create an indoor obstacle course or put together one outside. Either way, your kids will have a great time completing and competing.

#3. Create a Drum Line

What little person doesn’t like to bang on items? Just like a marching band marches, allow your kids to create a drum line and begin marching around the neighborhood. Anything and everything can be used for drums. Use old pans, sticks, or anything else you can find. The most important thing is that your kids have fun.

#4. Play Silly Games

When it comes to getting active, there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Playing silly games with your kids is one way to keep them active. Games like “Follow the Leader” and “Simon Says” are great games that kids of multiple ages can play together. Don’t be afraid to try new games that keep your kids active. You never know which ones they’ll love. Continue reading »

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Dunkin’ Brands. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Hi, my name is Robin and I am a Dunkin Donuts addict.  It’s not an exaggeration when I tell you that I am there every single day – at least once.  Last week during the blizzard (Juno) that we had here in New England, there was a driving  ban on, which meant that per orders of the governor, any non-essential personnel caught driving on the road would be fined $500.  Apparently Dunkin Donuts employees were considered to be non-essential and for the first time in many, many years, I had to go an entire day without my delicious caramel coconut coffee from Dunkin Donuts.  It was a tough day.  Really tough.

Ok, so we’ve clearly established that I am a Dunkin Donuts addict through and through and I want to tell you about a fun program that they have at DD’s.  It’s called the DD Perks Reward Program and on January 27th,  the program turned one years old.

DD Perks

But what exactly is DD Perks?  The DD Perks Rewards program, offers points toward free Dunkin’ Donuts beverages for every visit their guests make at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations. Continue reading »

**I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Dunkin’ Brands. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation**

Anyone that knows me in real life, knows that I am hooked on Dunkin Donuts coffee.  No joke, I am there every single day – at least once.  Usually I stop there for coffee a couple of times a day, though.  I am lucky because where I live, I have four Dunkin Donuts shops within a couple of miles of my house.  I even walked four blocks out of my way in New York City last week to get my fix:

Dunkin Donuts in NYC

Are you as big of a Dunkin’ Donuts freak as I am? If you are, you probably already know that back in January 2014, Dunkin Donuts announced their awesome DD Perks Reward Program and this past June they surpassed ONE MILLION members.

The DD Perks Reward Program is unlike any other rewards program out there, in my opinion. They like to thank their customers for all of the support. If you know anything about me, you know that I’m a big Dunkin Donuts fan and my local store knows me by my ‘usual.’ How awesome is that?

When you sign up for DD Perks Reward Program, you earn five points for every dollar you spend. Guess what? Once you reach 200 points, you get a coupon for a beverage of your choice. That is a reward at its finest. I love that Dunkin Donuts truly appreciates their customers for their support. They recognize that there is a lot of coffee competition out there and that their customers are the reason for their success (and their amazing products of course). Continue reading »

**I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for LISTERINE. I received samples for this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating**

I’m always looking for ways to get my family to have better dental health. Being the only girl in my family, I realized that it’s going to take something spectacular to get my family to ENJOY the process of getting a cleaner mouth. I feel as though my kids are old enough to take responsibility for cleaning their mouths but it’s my job to find the ideal product to help them get the job done right.

We are actually in love with all of the LISTERINE products, but recently I got my family hooked on the LISTERINE HealthyWhite Mouth Rinse. I love that my family can have a cleaner smile without the sting of peroxide. This specific mouth rinse from LISTERINE is totally peroxide free, which is perfect for my kids. I also love that HealthyWhite from LISTERINE helps restore enamel and prevents cavities. Continue reading »

Now that my boys have been back to school for about a month, we are back to a routine – which I am very happy about.  Things always seem to run smoother in my house when there is a set routine in place.   The thing is, some nights we are just so busy with after-school activities, that I feel like the rest of the night once we get home is very rushed.  One of the things I fear that my boys really rush is brushing their teeth. Let’s face it, sometimes brushing can be a challenge for kids, and I have a sneaking suspicion that my two aren’t doing as good of a job as I wish they did. Especially when it comes to getting in between their teeth.

LISTERINE Heroic Habits

Listerine has several great products and I think they are the answer to my problem. I am excited to try out these LISTERINE products, along with my family, so that we can all get get those hard to reach spots between our teeth super clean. Continue reading »

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pier 1 Imports. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

I love shopping and I love a good summer cookout, so when the folks at Pier 1 sent me on a little shopping spree to pick out some new gear for a summer oasis party, I was thrilled.  I have been shopping at Pier 1 for years, but it’s always nice to be able to get some new things, right?

A few weeks ago, I spent about two hours in the store picking out what I wanted.  I wish I could have gotten one of everything!

Shopping at Pier 1 #Pier1OutdoorParty #Sponsored #MC.

I was finally able to decide on the things I wanted & started planning my party.   We host lots of cookouts over the course of the summer and we decided that an outdoor oasis cookout over the  long Memorial Day weekend to kick off summer would be the perfect excuse to have some people over. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Reebok. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I’m on my feet a lot.  A lot! Between errands, the kids activities and other things that need to get done day-to-day, I am almost always on the go. That means that comfortable shoes are a must for someone like me!  Since the spring weather is finally here in New England and my boots are getting put away for the season, I decided that it was time for a new pair of kicks to wear as I go about my daily life.

I headed over to my local Kohl’s to see what I could get my hands on and these Reebok Skyscape sneakers were totally calling my name.

Lucky for me, they had lots of both colors in stock and I was able to grab my size right away so that I could go about the rest of my shopping. Continue reading »

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Hood. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

So many great things come to mind when I think of comfort foods.  In my case, I have a long list of things I consider to be comfort foods because, well, I love food.  One thing that the vast majority of recipes I consider to be comfort foods have one common denominator – sour cream. Hood Sour Cream is all natural and the perfect addition to so many of the comfort food recipes that I make. Today, I decided to share one of my favorite comfort foods with you: chili.

I love making chili not only because it’s super easy to make and tastes delicious, but because it’s something I can make ahead of time and let it sit in my crock pot all day while I’m out & about.  As a busy mom, recipes like that can be a lifesaver.

Here’s what you need:

1 pound of ground turkey (or beef if that’s your preference)
1 can of Garbanzo Beans
1 can of Kidney Beans
1 can of Black Beans
1 packet of chili seasoning
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 onion (chopped)
Approximately 1 tsp of garlic powder
Shredded cheese (I used a 4 cheese Mexican blend)
Hood Sour Cream

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Lionsgate. I received promotional item and a prize pack as a thank you for my participation.”

On March 14th, Lionsgate releases The Single Moms Club, a story of five struggling single Moms who put aside their differences in the midst of a school dilemma with their kids to form a support group. I have to tell you, I am really excited about this movie.

Have a look at the movie trailer to see what all the buzz is about:

Throughout their journey, the five women find inspiration and laughter in their new sisterhood and help each other overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. When my oldest son was two,  I saw an ad for a local MOMS Club that met right in my town.  I was super excited and contacted them right away to find out how I could join.  At the time, either my friends had not starting having children yet or their kids were much older and could not relate to toddlers anymore.  My sister & brother are younger than I am, so they hadn’t started having kids yet and I basically had no one to go to for support. Being a part of a support group like that was such a help to me at the time and not only did I connect with other moms in my community, I made a couple of life long friends.  Plus, I love that our kids are all in school together now that they are a bit older, so I still get to see the moms – just in a different capacity. **I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Carter’s. I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating**

My son has a little bit of trouble with snap or button pants, so since he’s away at school all day & I don’t want to worry about him having any accidents or worse, feeling like he can’t use the bathroom, I always buy him elastic waist pants.  The thing is, as he gets bigger (he’s in size 5T), pants with an elastic waist become increasingly difficult to find.  To make matters even worse – he’s a little boy.  And that means he comes home with holes in the knees of his pants ALL. THE. TIME.

I get it, boys will be boys, but when the pants he needs are hard to find, I like to stock up.  One place that I know for certain that carries elastic waist pants for him is Carter’s. So, I headed to my local Carter’s store (in Attleboro, MA) on Friday so I could stock up on his pants for the winter.

Carter’s a trusted name in children’s clothing, makes it easy to find cute and thoughtful gifts for little ones this holiday season. Available in sizes newborn – 7, Carter’s proves an easy, one-stop shop for adorable outfits this holiday season. Continue reading »

*I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a thank me for my participation*

Anyone that knows me, knows what a coffee junkie I am.  Whenever I go out, a pit stop at my local coffee shop is almost a guarantee.  The thing is, I end up spending SO much money on coffees & lattes.   I just knew that there had to be a way to create coffee-house quality beverages without the cost or mess from the convenience of your own home.  Guess what?  There is.  The NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto is the only machine that truly delivers delicious, coffee house quality creations every time with patented smart capsule technology delivering up to 15 bars of professional pressure and espresso technology.

I had the pleasure of trying out a NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto for myself.  The thought of never having to leave my house for a cappuccino or flavored coffee was very appealing to me, so I couldn’t wait to open it when it arrived last week. Continue reading »

**I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Cardstore. I received complimentary cards and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Earlier this week, you read all about the photo shoot that we did for our family Christmas Card picture.   Even though we took the pictures two weeks ago now, I am still patting myself on the back over how perfect everything turned out for our photo session.  After the photo shoot was done, I sat down and ordered my cards that afternoon.  Not that I necessarily wanted to be the first one to get my cards sent out or anything like that, but I did want to make sure I got my cards in plenty of time to send them out nice and early in the season so that people could sit in awe of the awesome cards I made.

I ordered my cards on a Sunday (the day of the photo shoot) and to my delight, they arrived the next Wednesday.  I was shocked when I opened my mail box and saw my cards sitting there so quickly after placing the order.  But there they were, so I got right to work addressing the envelopes so that I could mail them immediately.

In case you missed my photo shoot post, here are our family Christmas cards this year:

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Zact. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

My nine year old has been begging for a smartphone for about a year now.  Sure, I let him use my iPhone to play games on occasion, but I feel that he’s too young for a phone of his own.  I told him that he could get one in middle school, which is only a year and a half away (gasp).

With that being said, I do want my kids to be able to contact me if they need me while they’re not at home, but I have some concerns about their mobile usage and the risks associated with smartphones. But Guess what?  There actually IS a safe alternative available when it comes to smartphones for our kids!

I recently learned about Zact, a no contract nationwide mobile service, that has parental controls so you can easily set amount of text and data usage as well as set curfews, such as at meal and bed times. Zact was recently awarded the seal of approval from The National Parenting Center and their average monthly bill is only $22!

Are your kids asking for a smartphone this holiday season?  If so, visit for more information on their services or to sign up today!  I’d also recommend checking out this article from USA Today.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

It’s that time of the year again – you know what I’m talking about:  the holiday rush.  If you’re family is anything like mine, you get caught up in all the holiday festivities and it’s easy to forget what the season is truly all about.

The folks at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America knows this and this year they want to help  inspire us to reflect on the true meaning of giving with their 3rd annual Give the Gift of Great futures website. Head over to their site to vote in the Kids Give Back contest, which showcases BGCA kids giving back in their communities throughout the year or even create holiday gift tags with the Gift Tag Generator.

Throughout the year, but especially around this time of the year, my husband and I try to teach out kids about giving to others.  We donate the clothing we’ve outgrown, bring food deliveries to our church’s food pantry and bring toys to kids who are in need.  The BGCA has put together a list of  gift-giving tips to help inspire your kids to give back in your community.

Be sure to check out your local Boys & Girls Clubs’ website to find ways to volunteer in your community!

I just got over a miserable cold.  Or was it the flu?  Either way I was pretty sick and I ended up spending a good three days on my sofa sleeping – and what busy mom has time for that right? We try to take as many precautions against getting sick as we can, but we all know that they don’t always work ( like in my case).

Here are some things that my family does to try to prevent the spread of germs:

1. Wash  hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub for at least 20 seconds.

2. We avoid touching our eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread very easily this way.

3.  We try to avoid close contact with sick people as much as possible.

4.  We get plenty of sleep and exercise.

5.  We  drink plenty of fluids, and eat healthy foods. Continue reading »

**I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Cardstore. I received complimentary cards and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

It’s that time of year again.  You know, time to start thinking about Christmas cards.  I know it’s not even Thanksgiving, but it’s never too early to start planning for your Christmas cards, right? Besides, with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, ordering your cards early is one less thing you have to worry about later when you’re trying to do a million other things.

One of the things I really enjoy doing year after year is looking through all the photos from the past year and picking out the perfect one to put on to our Christmas cards.  I know it’s not a competition, but I tend to spend a lot of time finding the right card and making it just the way I want it.  It warms my heart when people tell me how much they loved my card and/or that the one I sent was their favorite.

But I digress.

This year, while I was searching for my perfect Christmas card, I came across Cardstore.   They had an amazing selection of cards to choose from and I found that ordering from them was really easy. I just uploaded the picture that I wanted to use, personalized my card with a signature, and place the order.  It was so simple.  And in case you’re wondering, yes, I got to proofread  my card before sending it. “**I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for OshKosh B’’Gosh.  I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating**

Last weekend, I was out shopping at the Braintree Plaza and decided to stop in at the OshKosh B’Gosh store while I was there.  I have been buying clothing for both of my boys at OshKosh B’Gosh since my oldest son was born nine years ago.  I’ve found that their clothing is true to size, so the clothes not only fit nicely, but also their clothing is durable – so most of the clothes that I bought for my first son has lasted through both of my boys wearing them.

With that being said, my little man has so much trouble with buttons & snaps on his pants, so I thought I could pop in to the store and see if they had any elastic waist pants. I’ve found that as my boys get bigger, elastic waisted pants aren’t as easy to find in bigger sizes and I hate the thought of my guy being off at school all day and struggling with buttons on his pants when he has to use the restroom.

Although my little man is six years old, he still wears  size 5T clothing because he’s a peanut.  I am very happy to report that I was able to get him three pairs of elastic waist pants at the OshKosh B’Gosh store that day.  I could have gotten more, but I figured that three pairs was enough.  Especially once I had noticed all of the great holiday clothing they had there.
