If you’ve been anywhere near here the last couple of weeks, you already know that my family and I went to Disney World last month. We did SO much while we were down there and I am slowly getting around to posting about it all. Like I said in a few previous posts, we always go to Downtown Disney on the day we arrive in Orlando because it’s already half way through the day and frankly, we’re too tired to go to the parks that first day. As awesome as they are, the parks can be overwhelming and to try to squeeze one in on the first day just doesn’t make sense to me. Especially since we’re all usually tired from our early morning flight and just traveling in general. So, we wait until our second day to hit the parks.
The Magic Kingdom is ALWAYS our first park and after I take about 4,000 pictures in front of the castle, Pirates of the Caribbean is ALWAYS our first ride of the day.
My little guy flaked this year, though, so it was just myself and my nine year old hanging out with Jack Sparrow this time around. Since we were at the park as soon as it opened, he and I were done with the ride in about ten minutes. Then we were off to my favorite ride in all of Disney World: The Haunted Mansion.
Flash photography isn’t allowed on the ride, but I did try to get a picture (sans flash) of the hidden mickey in the place setting on the table. Do you see it?
I know, it’s a tough one because of the bad lighting. It’s the last place setting on the left.
After that, we were off to It’s A Small World. I could do without this one, but my six year old LOVES that ride. LOVES!
Next up was the first of several PeopleMover rides that day. I actually don’t mind the PeopleMover, though. It’s a nice break. In case you’re wondering, the PeopleMover is a 10-minute tour of the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom aboard a mass transit system. My boys LOVE this ride as well and like I said – it gives our poor feet a break!
We did SO much more at the Magic Kingdom that day, but I am going to save the rest for tomorrow, so be sure to pop back to see the rest of my pictures.
PS – do you like our Halloween shirts?
