Sometimes, making a home-cooked meal from scratch with a main course and sides just isn’t possible because of time constraints. It doesn’t need to take hours of time and leave you with a sink full of dirty dishes to clean when the cooking process is complete. There are plenty of satisfying meals that you can create with just one pot or pan. Just toss the ingredients together and you’ll have a home-cooked meal that everyone in your family will love in no time!

Meal planning is much easier when you use the right tools to help you prep ahead of time. For these ideas, all you need is a cutting board, a few favorite spices, and your family’s favorite cuts of meat. We like to alternate between chicken, pork, beef, and simple pasta nights. One pot meals can be a staple of your meal plan, and they require little to no time freezing, defrosting, or other time-consuming tasks in the kitchen. Check out these simple ideas for one-pan or slow cooker meals.

Easy One Pot Meals For Your Family

Classic Chicken Dinner. Chicken and vegetables are a staple in just about every household. Usually it requires multiple pots and pans to prepare everything, but there is also an option for cooking everything in just one pan. Cook chicken breasts first, then wash out pan. Put the chicken back in with your other ingredients to cook the rest of the way.

For a classic one-pan chicken dinner, you can season the chicken, potatoes, and any veggies, such as carrots, you like in the pan with a packet of ranch seasoning mix. It’s a simple swap instead of mixing and matching spices from your pantry.

You can also combine chicken, spinach, and pomegranates for a fresh salad with protein, vegetables, and fruit! We also like to do chicken, spinach, tomatoes, and peppers in a pan with olive oil. It’s flavorful and fast.

Pork Tenderloin. Pork tenderloin also lends itself well to a one pan dinner. Just place the marinaded pork tenderloin in a pot along with red potatoes and carrots. Toss in some herbs and seasonings like rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt and pepper, olive oil, and an onion. Cook on medium heat until all the veggies are tender and the pork has cooked all the way through. Easy, right?

Baked Ziti. If you are having a pasta craving, then making a baked ziti is an easy and hearty meal in just one pan. You can mix all the ingredients in the pan without even needing a mixing bowl. Just brown ground beef or Italian sausage and add to a pan with marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan cheese, some heavy cream, ziti pasta, and seasonings.

If you want to make another pasta dish in just one pan, there are certain brands of pasta at the grocery store that don’t require boiling in a separate pot of water! It’s such a time saver.

Steak and Potatoes. This is a family favorite that doesn’t have to be a complicated affair. Add the raw steak into a pan with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, seasonings, and minced garlic. Stir in chopped potatoes and cook it all together in the oven.

These meal ideas just filled your busy week’s dinner schedule. Try using just one pot the next time you cook for creative and flavorful results.
