Now that summer is in full swing here in New England, it’s a great time to head out and explore all that western Massachusetts has to offer. Boasting a wide variety of attractions for every member of the family, western Massachusetts is the place to be. Although we’re been to the western part of our state many times over the years, my family recently spent a fantastic weekend in western Mass. While we were there, we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Enfield, CT.
When you book a stay at The Holiday Inn Springfield/Enfield, you will get a chance to experience the comfort and charm of all that New England has to offer. The hotel is only a short drive from Bradley International Airport and Enfield is centrally located between Springfield, MA and Hartford, CT, (right off I-91) which makes this hotel a great choice for travelers. There’s plenty of free parking, too!
In addition to a fitness center, indoor/outdoor pools, and on-site recreational activities that include tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, The Holiday Inn Springfield/Enfield offers an airport shuttle to nearby Bradley International for their guests.
Our room was up on the 3rd floor and the room was clean, reasonably priced and super quiet. Sometimes I have a hard time sleeping in hotels because of the hallway noise from other guests, but we didn’t hear a peep. I personally slept very well there.
We had a corner room with two double beds and a pull out sofa, so there was plenty of room for all of us. I was truly impressed by the size of the room – it was much bigger than a typical hotel room. There was also a refrigerator in the room and free (and reliable) WiFi.
My boys loved the heated pool and we were very appreciative of the complimentary towels that were provided in the pool area. I also loved the complimentary coffee station in the lobby, so I could sip on fresh coffee while the boys swam.
During our stay at The Holiday Inn Springfield/Enfield, we were able to enjoy several meals at the hotel’s restaurant: The Panini Grill & Bar. At dinner time they have a regular menu including lots of great sandwiches, burgers and steaks. At breakfast time, they have a wonderful breakfast buffet including waffles, home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, pastries, cereal and more.
Whether you’re looking for a light snack, a fantastic meal, or a tasty dessert, you will find it at Panini Grill & Bar.
Because the hotel is situated just off I-91, it’s really easy to get to all of the top attractions in the Springfield, MA area. It’s only about a ten minute drive to attractions like Six Flags New England, Eastern States, and the Basketball Hall of Fame. If you want to read about all the fun attractions that my family visited while we were in western MA, you can read all about it here.
