You’ve been asking for it and they listened. Announcing the arrival of fresh beef at McDonald’s. Yes, I said fresh beef! It is cooked right when you order it and it’s available for all Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers in McDonald’s restaurants across New England.
The move to fresh beef quarter-pounds burgers is not only part of their journey to build a better McDonald’s, but it’s a commitment to bring their customers more delicious food offerings to their customers.
All McDonald’s fresh beef quarter-pound burgers use 100 percent beef with absolutely no fillers, additives or preservatives. Quarter-pound burgers include the Quarter Pounder, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers.
You’re probably wondering how it all works in the McDonald’s kitchen. I had a chance to go behind the scenes at the McDonald’s in Everett, MA to get a look at how it all works and I have to tell you, the process is really streamlined.
The fresh beef patties are kept separate in a refrigerator that was specially designed just for McDonald’s. Since they have such a high volume of burgers ordered every day, they needed a fridge that would keep the temperatures high with the constant opening and closing – and this one does just that. So you can rest easy knowing that your beef is going to stay at the right temperature before it’s cooked.
The burger patties are cooked on their own grill, too.
While the seasoned patty is cooking, the bun is being toasted and the toppings are being added to it so it’s ready when the burger patty is.
I tried a classic Quarter Pounder with cheese, which is my normal go-to order when I go to McDonald’s and I loved the fresh beef. I was happy that it still had the taste that I am used to…it was just a little better. I could definitley tell the difference and while I am not usually a fan of change, in this case it’s a good thing.
McDonald’s continues to innovate its Signature Crafted Recipe sandwiches, which feature premium ingredients and unique flavor combinations. This month, McDonald’s introduces another flavorful, premium sandwich – Garlic White Cheddar. This Signature Crafted Recipe sandwich is available on a fresh beef, quarter-pound burger or chicken (Buttermilk Crispy Chicken or Artisan Grilled Chicken) and is available at participating U.S. restaurants.
Garlic White Cheddar is a mouthwatering, savory combination of creamy garlic aioli and crispy garlic chips piled up with a juicy tomato slice, crisp iceberg lettuce and real white cheddar cheese. Freshly prepared on a fresh beef quarter-pound burger or your choice of chicken (Buttermilk Crispy Chicken or Artisan Grilled Chicken) on a toasted Artisan Roll.
Thanks to McDonald’s for hosting me and a few other Boston area bloggers to be among the first to try out the new fresh beef patties.
Annnnd, I want to be the first to tell you a little secret. McDonald’s has a few other new Signature Crafted Recipes sandwiches lined up to make their debut later this year, so keep an eye out for those.
I am super excited about this new change over to fresh beef at McDonald’s. We’re at our local McDonald’s pretty often as it is, but now I think we will be there even more for some delicious fresh beef quarter pounders! And of their famous fries of course…they are my weakness in life.
