The White Mountains in NH is a great place to visit all year round. There are so many attractions and activities to enjoy with the family in the White Mountains. Now that summer is in full swing, I wanted to share a list of fun family activities in the White Mountains so that you can plan your vacation, day trips and much more in a fun-filled way.
Attitash Mountain Resort
Rider-controlled zip lines are the coolest things at this location. Enjoy the longest zip span in the East when you hop on to ride the trails from the summit of Bear Peak to the base of Attitash Mountain. You can also enjoy the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster while visiting this location.
Mount Washington Cog Railway
This is a great trip up Mount Washington on a train! Built in 1869 the Mount Washington Cog Railway is the perfect family fun activity in the White Mountains. What’s even cooler is that you can ride on an upgraded eco-friendly biodiesel train or a historical steam locomotive.
A very popular zip-lining company in the White Mountains that allows you to soar 200’ above the forest floor at speeds of 60 mph. Fabulous views and a professional staff make you feel comfortable while enjoying this adventure destination in New England.
Mount Washington Auto Road
This drive up Mount Washington is a fabulous time, you can blast your favorite tunes, listen to the guided tour or simply drive up taking in the views and stops along the way on your own. This is America’s original man-made attraction so the roads are quite narrow but the views are spectacular.
Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves
One of the best natural wonders in the White Mountains, Lost River Gorge, is the perfect family destination this summer. Follow the path to enjoy glacial caves, cascading waterfalls and gigantic boulders. If you’re into natural wonders, this is a must stop location in the White Mountains. My family loves the Lost River so much that we actually get a season pass every year. I wrote a post all about it, so if you want to read more, check it out here: https://massholemommy.com/the-lost-river-woodstock-new-hampshire/
Clark’s Trading Post
Family owned since 1928, this is a fun little stop in the White Mountains where you can see live bears and experience the famous Wolf Man. There are water blast boats, Segways, museums and much more at this attraction.
Whale’s Tale Water Park
Tucked into the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Whale’s Tale Waterpark has been thrilling families for over 30 years. As a matter of fact, Whale’s Tale Waterpark was recently voted one of TripAdvisor’s Top 25 waterparks in America! It’s a great place to cool off, relax and spend some time with friends or family. A visit to Whale’s Tale is a definite wet and wild experience for the whole family. We love Whale’s Tale and here is a post I wrote about one of our visit’s there: https://massholemommy.com/your-guide-to-whales-tale-waterpark-in-lincoln-nh/
