We go to New Hampshire several times a year. Chris, along with his father and three of his brothers, owns a quarter share of a condo on Loon Mountain. Basically that means that we get condo for one week per month. It’s a great location and everyone does a nice job sharing. Our family took the condo for a few days last month and the adventures in New Hampshire that you’ve been reading about over the past week all took place while we stayed at the condo.
The condo is part of the Loon Mountain Club, which is a resort located at the bottom of the mountain. You can literally walk out the door and ski if you wanted to. One of the things that we love the most is that there are all the amenities of a hotel at the resort. A pool, a full gym, a really nice spa, a sports bar, a nice sit down restaurant overlooking the mountain and the boys favorite thing: the game room.
Skee Ball was where my nine year old spent most of his time (and quarters). I played my fair share of Skee ball, too because it’s my favorite.
The little guy played a little Skee Ball, but he managed to make the rounds, though.
As you can see, he really got into this racing game.
Chris mostly played this basketball game and a little Pac Man.
Like most arcades, the games spit out tickets, but unlike most other arcades that we’ve played in, the kids did not have the option of picking out prizes. Instead they turned in their tickets at the front desk and were given candy as a prize. The boys earned themselves a lot of tickets, which equated to a lot of candy (approximately TWENTY) pieces each…..EACH- and I wasn’t all that keen on it, but they offered it to the kids before checking with me, so I really didn’t have much of a choice.
At least I convinced them to pick out a few of the things that I liked, too.
Anyways, air hockey is our thing. The boys and I, especially my six year old, love to play air hockey, so we weren’t leaving the game room without a few matches.
The last time we were at the condo, the game room was much smaller. It was in a completely different room and there were only about five games. They’ve expanded the room by quite a bit, so we will have to remember to bring a lot more quarters next time we go.
