Why hello there! We all have a dream right? We all have something we enjoy doing, whether it be a hobby of some kind or just something you have passion for. As a mother of five children we seem to put ourselves on the back burner but most times we are still in the cupboard waiting to once again discover our true self of who we lost when we became a mother or after child #2 or #3. We lose ourselves over the baking goodies, sports games, school homework and activities, relationships, errand running and house chores. The list goes on. It is so important to sit down and discover yourself and look deep down at who you truly are. Yes you are a mother, a daughter, a friend, or even a sister or aunt but you have to do something for YOU to give your life meaning for not only your children but for yourself too.
I was lost in the shuffle of what do I want to do? After working for many years, I am now a SAHM with a few degrees in finance and accounting but they weren’t my passion. I seriously would ask myself the question “What do I want to be when I grow up?” in my late twenties-early thirties. HAHA!! Now at age 33 and dabbling in a few things I found some interest in I was always falling back to what I loved most. Writing.
As a mother who loves reading, loves buying children’s books and has a passion for writing since I was 9 years old in Mrs. Neighbor’s classroom, I just knew I had to write. I knew it was my calling when I started writing numerous manuscripts yet was so nervous and scared to get them published in fear of failure. My biggest thing now is to not have fear and take the leap of faith. Fail or succeed – you won’t know until you try.
We read books at bedtime every evening and every time I see a new book to add to our collection the first thing I look at is the illustrations, then the story and I buy. Childhood is such a magical time filled with adventure and imagination, and curiosity. Reading is so important and teaches so much because there are so many different worlds within a book that you can get lost in. The more I read these books and looked at these beautiful illustrations I decided it was time. It was time to follow my childhood dream of becoming a children’s book author! Now I’m here to tell you that I am one! I am so excited and my heart is so overjoyed with the unconditional love and support from family and friends.
My books: Hello There Rabbit, Hello There Red Fox and Hello There Brown Bear are the first three books of the Hello There series! Each book talks about Rowan who goes into the enchanted woods near Strawberry Grove to discover not only a fun filled adventure but friendship! Living near the woods here in our home in Seattle, these books are inspired by the imagination, creativity and sense of wonder of my boys as they go outdoors to explore and conquer the day with adventure. These adorable books are perfect for bedtime, for a gift (ahem… Christmas shopping!!) and to even help reading skills of my now 7 year old. It makes my heart melt reading them my books and seeing them grin ear to ear as I turn each page.
I hope these books open the minds of children with even more creativity in their amazing imaginations and teach them how magical and loving friendship is and can be. Remember what we tell our children? That you can do and be anything you set your mind to. That goes for you too. Not just them. Take your own advice and speak it into existence. I’m Kristina Pache-Ferency and I am 33 years old. I will be a successful children’s book author and I hope to share my loving, adorable heartfelt books with the world.
The series can be purchased on Amazon in paperback and ebook! Hardcover will be available on Amazon and online at Barnes and Noble on November 28th – preorders can be made!
