I would consider myself to be an outgoing person. I love meeting new people, but usually when I meet someone for the first time, I tend to hold back a little. Like I said, I’m outgoing, but I’m also a little sassy (ok – A LOT sassy) and I’ve been known to put my foot in my mouth on more than one occasion. I like to have a chance to gauge what someone is like before I unleash the beast that is Robin on some unsuspecting victim. That way I can avoid a possible awkward foot in mouth situation. It doesn’t always work by the way.
Back when I was younger, I was very, very bashful. I remember how I could feel my face heat up and turn beat red whenever someone talked to me that wasn’t a friend or family. Oh, and the horror when I got called on to read out loud at school. I remember the anxiety I used to get when I had to speak. But when I was 16, I got my first job as a cashier at a Lil’ Peach convenience store, so talking to people wasn’t optional anymore. And once I started talking – I just never stopped.
Now, I’ll talk to anyone. I say things I shouldn’t all the time. All the time. I offend people left and right and almost always speak before I think. Whenever I tell people that I used to be shy, I always get the same reaction. They laugh in my face. But I swear to you, it’s true.
