I don’t know about you, but I have been known to have some pretty epic Netflix binge watching marathons. My kids are off with their dad most Saturdays and there have been times that I have literally sat on my couch from the time I woke up until bedtime just watching entire seasons of shows on Netflix. Seriously.
If I am going to veg out all day, I may as well do it right and binge watch shows on Netflix, right?
Sometimes I like to check out shows that I missed the first time around, sometimes I watch some of the Netflix original series and sometimes I just like to rewatch some of my favorites. Here’s what I have been binging on as of late (in no particular order).
Raised by their dad to fight supernatural forces, grown siblings Dean and Sam crisscross the country in their 1967 Chevy Impala, investigating paranormal activity and picking fights with deadly demons, ghosts and monsters.
I watch this one when it’s on regular tv, but I thought it would be fun to go back and rewatch the series from the beginning – and it was. I love me some Sam & Dean and if you think this show might not be your thing I dare you to give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Inspired by Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid, this creepy series is set in Haven, Maine, where residents are plagued by supernatural afflictions. FBI agent Audrey Parker feels connected to this place and delves into her own past to discover the truth.
My hubby and I started this because we thought it would be sort of X-filey and sort of Twin Peakish (remember that show??) and that is exactly what it turned out to be. We both loved this series and finished it in record time.
This Netflix original chronicles the life of one of the darker Marvel characters, the mysterious Jessica Jones. When a tragedy puts an the end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica settles in New York City and opens her own detective agency, called Alias Investigations. Jessica has PTSD and she wants to do good, but her primary interest isn’t in saving the world, it’s getting through each day.
I love most Marvel things, so watching this was a no-brainer for me. Sadly, I am not sure sure it lived up to the hype. I still liked it, but it was just eh to me. It’s definitely worth a watch, but keep in mind this one is definitely NOT for kids, so watch it after they go to bed.
A new group of medical students arrives to learn the ropes at Sacred Heart Hospital, where J.D., Turk, Kelso, and acerbic Dr. Cox are their instructors.
Scrubs is one of my all time favorite shows and since hubby and I just wrapped up rewatching How I Met Your Mother for the 4th or 5th time, we decided to go back to Scrubs. We’ve seen all the episodes many, many times and it never gets old. It is a really well written comedy and if you come back and tell me you don’t like it, we will no longer be friends.
If you haven’t watched any of those shows before and you’re looking for something to binge on – I would definitely suggest all of the shows I mentioned. Or maybe you were just waiting for the new season of Orange is the New Black to come out so you could binge on that? Well, you’re in luck because it’s already streaming on Netflix, so go get to it.
Netflix Tech Hacks
Last month, Netflix released two new innovations to help you make the most of your streaming experience:
1. Next time you’re having trouble streaming your favorite Netflix show, check Fast.com, a no frills tool that tests your internet connection speed, to view your download speeds.
2. Users can now control how much data they use when streaming on cellular networks. To set your data usage, make sure you have the latest version of the Netflix app and visit the “App Settings” menu.
So tell me, what have you been binge watching lately?
