Last week, the kindergartners put on their annual spring performance. This year, as you probably already know, I have a kindergartner, so I lined up early to get a good seat for the show.
The show was America themed and the kids all started the show with the Pledge of Allegiance and then they sang patriotic songs for the next half hour or so.
My little man was right in the front row donning a super cool “powdered wig”. I laughed so hard when I saw him in it.
In addition to the songs they sang, all the kids went up to the microphone in small groups of three or four and got to recite a part that they memorized. There were three classes performing in the show and they each got a letter of the alphabet and said a sentence about something patriotic that began with that letter. My guy got the letter “M” and here’s what he had to recite:
M is for Mount Rushmore
A monument sensation
It honors four great presidents
Who guided our young nation
And here is he is one more time, well, because one picture in that wig just isn’t enough.
The show was so cute and I totally can’t wait to blackmail him with these pictures when he’s older.
