If you’ve ever been to Downtown Disney and have managed to evade the ginormous Lego store down there, consider yourself lucky. The first year that I took my boys (2008), I was casually walking through Downtown Disney when my oldest, who was 5 at the time (the little man was just a few weeks shy of his second birthday) spotted that damn Lego store and of course, we had to go in
and spend a shit ton of money.
The thing is, Legos are expensive – whether you’re buying them in Target or at an actual Lego store. But at the Lego store they have this handy dandy station set up where you can design and build your own minifigures. To the tune of ten bucks for three guys. What a rip off, right? But it’s one of those things that we just have to do year after year.
Here is the little man getting to work:
It is a cute idea to let them design their own guys (or girls), but seriously, it’s such a rip off.
And BOTH of my boys each had to design a box full-o-minifigures. Here is my big guy making his:
Chris and I knew we had the trip to Disney coming up, so we got each of the boys Lego gift cards for their birthdays back in August. Each of them walked out with a big bag of stuff and neither of them will see the inside of a Lego store until we go back to Disney next August.
