While you’re walking around Downtown Disney, you will end up coming across the T-Rex Cafe, which is a pretty cool restaurant in and of itself, but did you know that in the back of the gift shop, there is a Build-a-Dino Store? Think Build-a-Bear, only with dinosaurs.
My boys had absolutely no idea that such a thing existed – until I told them about it, and of course we had to go check it out on our recent trip.
First things first – they had to pick out which dinosaur they wanted to “build”.
There were at least a dozen different ones to choose from and they all averaged around $20.
Once they made their selections (both of my boys ended up choosing the same dino by the way), they had to pick out a small heart to put inside and then actually stuff their dino.
Once their dinos were sufficiently stuffed and the girl that worked there sewed them up, each of the boys gave their dinosaurs their first “bath”.
Next up was the most
expensive important part of the adventure. Picking out outfits for their dinos. The pants/shorts/skirts, shirts, and shoes are all sold separately. There are also accessories if you’re a millionaire available for the dinos like sunglasses, hats, jewelry, cell phones, bags, etc.
Finally, the boys had to fill in some information on a computer to complete the dino’s birth certificates.
After the birth certificate were printed, we paid and went off on our way. Here are the boys with Beb and Roary:
Somehow I have a feeling that we will be going back there again next summer.
