*My family and I were invited to this attend WWE’s Money in the Bank live pay per view event and received tickets at no charge. No other compensation was received. All opinions expressed here are strictly my own and were not influenced in any way**
Back in March I chaperoned my youngest son’s class field trip to the aquarium. On both the bus ride to the aquarium and the ride home, all the little boys talked about was wrestling. John Cena this and Kane that. It was really cute, but prior to that, I didn’t realize that my son knew anything about any of the WWE wrestlers. When we got home that night I asked him about it and he sure schooled me. He knew them all and talked my ear off for a good half hour about the WWE and mostly John Cena.
When my family received an invitation to attend the live pay-per-view (PPV) event, Money in the Bank on June 29, 2014 at the TD Garden in Boston, I knew it was going to be the highlight of my boys summer!
We arrived at the show about an hour before the event started and my boys were super excited when we got there and they saw the ring all set up!
At the beginning of the show, Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan made an appearance and gave the audience an update on his neck surgery recovery was going. As soon as they announced his name, the crowd went insane. They cheered him for a good couple of minutes and after everyone settled down, he told us that he didn’t know when he was going to return and that he actually might need to have another surgery.
There were eight matches took place at the Money in the Bank event and two of them were main events: 1. The traditional Money in a Bank Ladder match (which was won by Seth Rollins) and 2. Another ladder match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship (won by John Cena).
Here was the lineup of matches for the night:
1. The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family (Tag Team Championship)
2. Paige vs. Naomi (Divas Championship)
3. Damien Sandow (dressed as Paul Revere) vs. Adam Rose
4. The Money in the Bank Ladder Match featuring Kofi Kingston, Rob Van Dam, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins
The crowd went wild when Kane made an appearance towards the end of the match.
With Kane’s help, Rollins grabed the briefcase for the win.
5. Stardust and Goldust vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel
6. Rusev vs. Big E
7. Summer Rae vs. Layla
8. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match featuring ray Wyatt, Sheamus, John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, Kane,Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, and Cesaro.
This was the fifth annual Money in the Bank event and I am so happy that my boys got to attend this particular event for their first WWE live experience. I have been to a few live WWE events in the past, but there is nothing like being able to attend a pay-per-view show. The crowd was so lively and fun & that definitely added to the experience for all of us.
In the audience, there were many hardcore fans with homemade signs that they worked so hard to make, young kids who, like my boys, were attending their first live show and of course, there were many longtime fans who are there just because they go to all the live shows when they come to town. It was a very memorable experience for all of us.
