Tucked away in central Massachusetts, Great Wolf Lodge New England is THE place to go for a weekend of family fun! Located in Fitchburg, Great Wolf Lodge is more than just a water park. Sure, your family is in for an incredible water park experience when you visit, but there is much, much more including tons of family friendly attractions, shopping, entertainment and various dining options – all under one roof! I was invited to spend this past weekend at Great Wolf Lodge with my family, so I am going to tell you all about it.
If you are like me, the Indoor water park is most likely the initial draw to Great Wolf Lodge. Obviously around these parts we have much more cold weather than we do hot weather, so that makes an indoor water park very appealing. The water park includes a number of awesome water slides, an indoor wave pool and Fort Mackenzie, which is a water fort tree house with slides and toys. You can also Grab a tube and float your way around Crooked Creek (lazy river), try to pass across the Big Foot Pass, where you have to cross these large, floating lily pads using only cargo nets for help or play in Chinook Cove, activity pool gives you the chance to swim, splash and shoot some hoops.
But the water park is just one part of the overall Great Wolf Lodge New England experience.
Attractions at Great Wolf Lodge New England
Using your wand, explore the lodge as you take part in an interactive quest. On the quest, you will come across objects such as treasure chests which come to life when the kids swipe their wands past them. Each stop on the quest gives the kids clues towards completing the quest and my favorite part is that it can be done at your own pace (which is perfect because one quest can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours). You can start the quest and go back to it later – or even on a whole separate trip back to Great Wolf Lodge.
For kids age five and under, Mini Magi Mode provides all the magic of MagiQuest but in a game that is specifically designed for younger Magi to explore and experience throughout the lodge.
Wand prices range from $15.99 to $21.99, depending on the style and each game costs $13.99.
Howly Wood XD Theater
It’s not just a movie; it’s the ultimate, full-immersion, 4-D thrill ride! As you watch the movie from the motion-enhanced chair, that and the other effects make you feel like you are part of the action. At Great Wolf Lodge New England there are three movies to choose from.
Just like they do in the spy movies, you will have a chance to maneuver around the laser beams as you navigate this maze! Your mission is to get the highest score without letting the lights touch you.
Your child’s favorite Great Wolf Kids character comes to life right before your eyes at the Creation Station. They will get to pick a character, stuff it and even purchase an outfit for their new friend. They even have some matching clothing for the kids so they can match their new stuffie. How cool is that?
Great Wolf Kids Characters are $24.99 and the price includes a Great Wolf Kids drawstring backpack to house the stuffed animal. Outfits and accessories are priced separately.
Once their character is finished, the kids are then able to set out on an exciting, interactive adventure that transforms the lodge into a giant playground as part of the Clubhouse Crew. The kids can interact with different characters, and find fun activities at every stop with their interactive new plush character.
Northern Lights Arcade
There is a gigantic arcade filled with fun arcade games for kids of all ages. From air hockey to basketball to car racing and more. Whether you choose games of chance or skill, you’re sure to have a blast playing and winning tickets as you go. And your Paw Points don’t expire, so you can bring your card back when you visit again for even more arcade fun.
Howlin’ Timbers Play Park – Play on Dry Land!
Howlin’ Timbers Play Park offers the best of Great Wolf Lodge on dry land. This is where you’ll find Howl at the Moon Mini Golf, Ten Paw Alley, the Frog Hopper amusement ride, the Howlers Peak Ropes Course and more! Let me tell you about what you will find inside Howlin’ Timbers Play Park:

Half-length lanes and five-pound balls make bowling come alive for toddlers, teens and adults, too. Bowling is always fun, and it’s even more fun at Ten Paw Alley!
