Did you know that June is Adopt-a-Cat Month?  Consider yourself informed. I actually had no idea myself until I got an email from my friends at Scotties telling me about a wonderful event they sponsored earlier this month.

Back for their 4th year, Scotties Facial Tissues partnered with animal rescue organization up and down the east coast in an effort to get eligible cats and kittens into loving adoptive homes. Each organization – The Animal Protective Foundation (Albany, NY), Boston MSPCA (Boston, MA), and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (Tampa, FL) all received $5,000 each to go towards the re-homing of cats. All cats and kittens adopted have been spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and screened for temperament. During the Adoption event, all fees associated with adopting select felines were waived at participating locations thanks to a generous donation from Scotties.

This initiative was first started by Scotties in 2014. It is part of an ongoing effort to increase the number cats and kittens going to good homes. From June 1st through the 7th during “Scotties Adoption Week” they are proud to say that in 2017 alone over 400 cats and kittens have gone into brand new loving forever homes.  I think it’s safe to call the event a huge success!

Thanks to Scotties, Donald and Ted were able to go live  and be loved on by their new families.  Forever.

Just look at those faces!

If you’ve been considering adopting a cat – or any animal, please visit your local animal shelter.  There are so many loving pets there who would love a chance to find their forever home. You may remember our dog Milo?  Though he has already crossed the rainbow bridge, he was adopted.  It felt so good to know that our family was able to give him a wonderful life in our home.  Please, please, please consider adoption if you are thinking of getting a new family pet.

  1. The local animal shelter is definitely the way to go when adopting a pet. It’s comforting to know that so many cute and cuddly cats are finding their forever homes through adoption.

  2. I love this so much! People mostly think about dogs when they think adoption. Maybe that’s why so many cats have a hard time getting adopted.

  3. You had me at all the adorable kitty cat photos! Adoption events are so necessary in getting kittens/cats adopted! Thankful this one was a success!

  4. I am so happy that this event went well. We have adopted both of our cats

  5. I love my kitties. Good for Scotties for sponsoring this awesome event. Hope they all get adopted!

  6. I love seeing brands get behind great projects. Adoption is really important for us – this is great!

  7. I wish my son and I weren’t allergic to cats. My daughters want a cat so bad. We always adopts our pets.

  8. I love cats, but they don’t love me. I have allergies. I had no idea they had a month designated just for them. How sweet.

  9. Ted and Donald are beautiful! I have always said that if I am going to get a pet it would be though adoption/ shelter. After all they are the ones who need a home! x

  10. It’s great that Scotties has this adoption event. Adopted pets have been the best pets for our family.

  11. My rescue kitties are the best thing that have ever happened to me (besides my family). They complete our family. I highly recommend adoption.

  12. Oh-mygosh! We were just at our shelter and looking at the kittens when we found a puppy at a foster home we’re now in line to adopt. Adopting a pet is a magical time and it’s great Scotties is sponsoring this event!

  13. Oh my goodness, those kitties are so gorgeous, all of my animals I have now have been adopted and I think it is the only way I would go.

  14. My kids would love to get a cat. In fact, they have been begging us to get a kitten for a few months now. Maybe soon!

  15. I didn’t know it was Adopt-A-Cat-Month. Both of our cats were rescues and they are just precious!

  16. How cute are those kittens! We adopted two kittens from our local animal shelter last year. They are the sweetest kittens ever!

  17. Kittens are so darn cute. My kids want one but the 10 year old has bad allergies.

  18. My husband and I are allergic to cats so I won’t ever have one, but I LOVE cats! My daughter is adopting a kitten this month (waiting for it to be spayed) so I can visit hers! She named her Medusa 🙂

  19. I have three cats of my own right now. In a way I would say I adopted them because they were all out on the streets. They had no owners and I have taken them in as my own. 🙂

  20. Kittens are so cute….I haven’t had a kitten in quite a while. I think it’s wonderful that Scotties is animal friendly. I am also not sure the Farm cats would welcome a new cat after all the excitement of the two new additions this winter.

  21. These are adorable kitties! It is so sad how many cats are stuck in shelters. My daughter just adopted an older shelter cat and we love it!

  22. I had no idea June was Adopt-a-Cat Month. My friend just adopted two sisters that were at the local shelter.

  23. OMG those sweet baby kitens are so cute. Reminds me of my childhood. We always had cats growing up.

  24. I always buy Scotties! They work well and they are inexpensive. I love my kitties! I’d take them all if I could!

  25. I love that they do this! My pets throughout my life have always been adopted from a shelter and I think it’s important to give a home to those who don’t have one!

  26. Those kitties are beautiful! We have a rescued kitty too. We got him from the humane society and love him to pieces.

  27. Oh my they are so precious! makes me reminisce on my kitty

  28. Could those kittens be any cuter? Spaying is the best form of keeping the population under control. But big shout out to Scotties for helping kitties who are born find forever homes.

  29. My sister has adopted two cats, bless her heart. She loves them and takes care of them so well! If you are looking for a pet, I think adoption is always the first place to look.

  30. I didn’t know June is a wonderful month of cats. It’s great that people have a program where we can protect cats.

  31. Adoption is a great way to own a pet! I am not a kitty person, my sister in law loves cat, I think she is going to adopt another one.

  32. Adopting a pet is a topic that is very much on my mind these days. Animals don’t ask to be homeless and they certainly deserve to have a home. We have plenty of great animals without breeding even more.

  33. Aww those kitties are so dang cute! I wish I could go get all of them but we have too many pets already haha.

  34. I didn’t know it was cat adoption month. These are some seriously adorable faces! While I’m not looking for a pet, I will share this information.

  35. Though I live on the opposite side of the globe, but seeing those cute little creatures, I want to adopt both of them so bad!

  36. I hope these sweet kittens get good new homes! They are incredibly cute!

  37. It is awesome how Scooties started this campaign in 2014. I must say that Donald’s hair makes him look cuter by it being messed up a little bit. Thanks for shairng the information.

  38. I would adopt one if my husband is not allergic to cats. I miss having kitties around.

  39. Oh my goodness, Ted just melted my heart. Those little eyes and that little face. He’s so precious. <3

    I am loving this campaign!

  40. OMG they are so cute. These kitties just made my day!

  41. I didn’t know Scotties had such a wonderful program. I’m a real cat lover – we have 5 – so this brings a tear to my eye. Where’s my tissues? (Scotties of course)

  42. I love when people do events like this. It warms my heart to see kitties find their forever home.

  43. So glad to see that you are promoting an adoption event. We adopted our sweet dog almost ten years ago…still not sure who rescued who.

  44. It’s great to hear big brand supporting organization for a good cause. I thinking of getting a pet someday and I’ll consider animal adoption for sure.

  45. I love that Scotties is supporting such a great organization and cause! Every cat I’ve had has either been adopted or taken in from being a stray. I wish more people would adopt instead of buying from pet stores.

  46. I would love to adopt a new dog, however, I don’t think it would be fair because there is not much room in the house for another dog. I would suggest this to my niece, to go for adopting a puppy instead of buying one from a pet store.

  47. There are a lot of stray cats in out place. If I don’t have little kids at home, I would willingly adopt them. I hope there will more institutions to rescue those cats in the streets.

  48. I want a kitty so bad, but my toddler is allergic. We are going to keep having him get randomly tested and hope he grows out of it like I did as a kid.

  49. Both of our furbabies are adopted! It’s a great thing for your family and the community, too! But my new rule is, since the twins came, nothing else is coming into my house that can’t already feed itself LOL

  50. How lovely is Scotties for sponsoring such a lovely event 4 years running. I didn’t know there was an adoption week for cats

  51. These are such cute kitties. We don;t have any pets but my DS loves a kitty that my neighbor has.
