Special Delivery From the North Pole Printable Gift Tag

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ve seen this photo before. If you’re new, meet my family.

my family at Taras wedding

In the photo, I am pictured with my bother, sister and my parents. The picture was taken the day that my sister got married (a little over two years ago) and it’s the most recent photo of the five of us together.

What you don’t know about this photo is that it took a lot of work to get my mom over to the spot where we took this photo.  At the time, you would never see her go anywhere without her cane, but as you can see in the photo above – she doesn’t have it.  It took two people holding her arms to help her walk to where she stood for the picture.

My mom hasn’t been well in a really, really long time. She’s a melanoma survivor (going on 4 years), she has a liver that practically doesn’t work anymore (she’s on the transplant list), she’s a diabetic, she’s anemic and on top of all that, she literally has no immune system. And that’s really just the tip of the iceberg.

Because of the missing immune system, her diabetes and a few other things, she is constantly getting wounds on her that just don’t heal. She has really bad varicose veins on both legs which make her skin even more susceptible to skin irritations. Minor skin irritations turn into big ones and because these wounds take forever to show even the slightest amount of improvement, she is in and out of the hospital with constant infections. Not to mention, she is in pain all of the time.

Because things aren’t getting any easier for her, this is how she gets around most of the time now:

mom in scooter

She actually spent the majority of this past summer in the hospital because the wounds on her leg were so badly infected.  She’s back home with my dad now, but she literally hasn’t left the house since she was discharged from the hospital back in September.  Because she’s had such a rough time lately, I want to make sure Christmas is extra special for her this year.

Even though she’s home-bound all the time, she makes an effort to always look her best.  It gives her confidence and makes her feel good about herself.  In addition to always doing her hair & wearing makeup, she loves to wear perfume. I was over at Walgreens the other day and noticed this display filled with lots of perfume gift sets and I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to get one for my mom.

Walgreens Store Pics

My mom loves Beyoncé, so it was a no-brainer that I picked this set for her:

There is just something about gifting someone you love a special fragrance.

I know for a fact that my mom is going to love this.  I had a chance to smell the tester while I was in the store and it’s totally her style.

And seriously, who doesn’t love Beyonce?

I just know she is going to love it.  By why stop there? Why not dress up your gifts this Christmas with these printable gift tags:

My FIL was in the same condition as your mother and it’s really challenging. I love that your mom invests in her appearance because I do think it makes you feel better.

That’s so funny it was my mom who turned me on to Pulse! I’m a big fan of Dolce&Gabana Light Blue. Praying that your mom gets her new liver soon, back in College I had a friend on the list too.

I’ve never smelled a Beyonce perfume, but I bet your Mom will appreciate the gesture. I hope she is able to recover and get a transplant so that she can become more mobile.

I’ve not smelled the Beyonce perfume before, but it looks like a really nice set to get someone. I’m sure that your mom will be thankful for the gift. I hope she recovers soon and is able to get a new liver soon.

Some great photos of your Mom, tough to see loved ones in pain and struggling but she is a beautiful woman and I bet that perfume would brighten her day. Reminding her how amazing she is! Plus everyone loves surprises.
