St. Patrick’s Day Party Ideas for Kids

St. Patrick’s Day can be a fun holiday for the whole family! It can sometimes be difficult to come up with ideas to make a St. Patrick’s Day party fun for kids. It’s easy with adults but just in case you are looking for some great ideas for St. Patrick’s Day kids parties you’ve come to the right place! These ideas are sure to be a hit with all of your little leprechauns!

Green Food

This is a classic for St. Patrick’s Day and can’t be overlooked at a kid’s party! Some great foods that go green easily are rice crispy treats, cupcakes, jell-o, and sugar cookies! You can even make some green savory treats like popcorn and the chip dip! Try dying the ice cubes for a fun, fizzy, surprise in the soda!

St. Patrick’s day is all about gold coins and leprechauns so try putting a classic spin on some themed party games! You can pin the hat on the leprechaun, or pin his gold coins in his pot! A great way to keep kids busy during a St. Patrick’s Day party is to set up a fun scavenger hunt! You can have the kids hunt for the rainbow or a pot of gold; chocolate coins make a great prize for figuring out the clues!

You can use simple elements like colorful streamers or table cloths to create a rainbow that lands on your food station or gift bag station! Another decoration idea that I really love for St. Patrick’s Day parties for kids is a fruit tray rainbow and leftover Halloween cauldrons! You can use a big fruit tray to decorate the table by arranging the fruits into a rainbow! Halloween cauldrons make excellent pots for gold coins! The great thing about St. Patrick’s Day is that you can buy plain colored plates, napkins, and plastic cutlery! You can mix up the rainbow color scheme or use a classic green, gold, and black combo.

Pinterest is a great resource for free printable decorations, games, and even invitations. You can print them at home which will help keep your costs low! I love using printables to spice up simple elements like straws, some water bottle or soda labels, garland signs, etc. It can really put the look of the party up a few notches with just a little bit of extra effort. If your kiddos are crafty you can even use a blank invitation and have them color and decorate them before they’re sent out!

Fun Elements

If you’d like to do an extra fun element for your St. Patrick’s Day party for kids think if including some kind of DIY food bar! Kids love to create their own masterpieces and an edible craft is even better! Rainbow pudding cups are an easy way to let little hands craft their own snack! You can fill piping bags with dyed vanilla pudding or use different flavors to create the different layers!

How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your kids? Do you have a favorite party element that you go back to year after year or do you always try something new?
