Here in Massachusetts it started snowing late Wednesday night and we woke up to a dusting (under 2″) on Thursday morning. Thursday was to supposed to be the first day back to school after Christmas vacation, but because the weather people had been talking about the impending storm for about a week before it happened, a lot of towns in my area canceled school for both Thursday and Friday – before the snow even started. Not my town, though. My kids had school on Thursday, but since we got so much throughout the day that day, school was canceled for Friday.
Yesterday morning my boys woke up and couldn’t wait to get outside and play in the snow. We got about 8 or 9″ in my neck of the woods, which was less than the foot of snow that they predicted, but once the snow totals get to a certain point, what’s a few more inches. Go big or go home, right?
Anyhow, here are a few pictures of the snow that I snapped on my deck. I was still in my pajamas at the time, so I didn’t go out in it like the kids & Chris did.
The boys were in their glory:
And just because I thought it looked pretty, here is one of the two giant pine trees in my front yard:
Once the boys were out, they went to town in the snow.
Oh, and look at what Chris did:
For the record, I hate when the kids have snow days from school. It’s not that I mind having them home with me, because I don’t. It’s just that I would much rather have them out earlier in June so that we can enjoy the summer. I’ll take a beach day over a snow day anytime.
