Remember last month when I told you all about the Magical Express? The Magical Express is complimentary round-trip airport transportation and luggage delivery for guests who are staying at Disney resorts. The day before your flight, you’ll get an envelope on your door with the time your bus leaves the resort for the airport. It’s usually two to three hours before the flight.
Let me start by saying that the Magical Express isn’t so magical on the return trip back to the airport.
But did you know that you can check your luggage and receive your airline boarding pass right at your Disney Resort hotel with their Resort Airline Check-In Service. You have to be departing from Orlando International Airport and flying on one of these airlines, though:
- AirTran Airways
- Alaska Airlines
- American Airlines
- Delta Air Lines
- JetBlue Airways
- Southwest Airlines
- United Airlines
- US Airways
We always fly Southwest when we go to Disney, so we check in our bags at the resort before we leave & don’t see them again until we get home.
At Orlando International Airport (MCO), it’s so large that you need to take a shuttle to get from one side of the airport to the other. Security is on one side and the gates are all on another. Here are the boys on the shuttle.
They played their DS’s quietly and had some snacks (or in my oldest’s case, an entire sandwich) while we were waiting to board.
Our flight was around 9 am because I wanted to get home early enough in the day that I would have time to do some laundry and get back into the routine.
Somehow the kids ended up with all the snacks that Chris & I got, but at least they enjoyed them.
We made it back to Providence around 11:30 am and after an exhausting week, we actually were happy to be home.
Until next year…….
