Cover your Mouth
Do not cover your mouth with your hands when you’re coughing or sneezing and teach your kids this same method. Place your mouth over to the inside of your elbow and cough or sneeze into that area. This helps keep you from spreading more germs to others if you catch a cold or flu.

Stop Touching Your Face
Your eyes, nose, and mouth are the easiest places to catch a germ that’s in the air. While you are out and about running errands or going to the kids’ events, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth. These areas are more susceptible to picking up those nasty cold and flu germs.

Wash your Hands
Pick up some hand sanitizer and plenty of hand soap. Your best bet to stay healthy during cold and flu season starts with the simple step of washing those hands. Wash your hands more frequently than normal during this time of the year to get rid of any germs you touched while out of the house.

Stay Home
If you have any sort of respiratory infection opt to stay home more often than going out. This will keep you from spreading the cold and flu to others and help you stay healthy. This time of year there are so many sick people that may not even show symptoms, so be sure to stay home if you’re already sick.
